Elodia at a glance
What is Elodia?
Elodia is a platform that helps artists, cultural workers and organizations find the right funding programs, prepare their applications and meet their deadlines. It was built on more than 10 years of experience writing arts and culture grant applications by Élodie Lorrain-Martin, who has prepared more than 1,000 applications for artists and organizations.
Who is Elodia for?
Artists in every discipline, collectives, managers and agents, labels, production companies, festivals, presenters and every cultural organization that applies for funding in Canada.
Which programs are covered?
Elodia covers more than 500 arts and culture funding programs and streams in Canada: federal, provincial and municipal, in every artistic discipline. Each program has its own page with its criteria, deadlines, documents to prepare and eligible expenses. Our team reviews the database continuously.
Does Elodia write my application for me?
No. Elodia helps you write a better application, faster. The AI suggests answers based on your file and the program’s evaluation grid, but you review, edit and submit. You remain the author of your application.
Getting started
How does the free trial work?
The free trial has no time limit. It includes 1 application and 7 questions to the AI, with access to every program, the Strategy diagnostic and the AI review. That is enough to test Elodia on a real application. To go further, simply choose a plan.
Where do I start?
- Take the diagnostic in Strategy to find the programs that suit you.
- Fill in your Memory, or upload a past application to go faster.
- Start an application for the chosen program and work with the AI, question by question.
- Have your application reviewed, then download your file ready to submit.
Finding the right programs (Strategy)
What does “Next available for you” mean?
These are programs you are not yet eligible for, but almost. Elodia shows you the criteria you are missing, for example a number of achievements or a year of existence. You know what to build to qualify later.
Are my programs saved?
Yes. You can save your diagnostics and add programs to your list. When you create an application, the programs from your diagnostic appear first.
Can I get a reminder before a deadline?
Yes. The “Remind me” button next to a program emails you 2 months, 1 month, 2 weeks, 1 week or the day before each deadline, as you choose. Uncheck the reminder to stop it.
Can I browse programs without an account?
Yes. Each program has a public page, in French and English, with its deadlines. The “Most popular” section ranks programs by the pages users actually open, not by our preferences.
Your file (Memory)
What is Memory for?
Memory holds everything the AI needs to know about you and your projects: your background, your achievements, your organization and your documents. You fill it in once and it serves all your applications.
Do I have to answer the same questions twice?
No. What you already entered in Strategy, such as your status or discipline, is already filled in Memory. You can always change it.
Can I use my past applications?
Yes. It is the fastest way to start. After a few basic questions, you can upload a past application instead of answering the rest of the questionnaire. A single readable application is enough to complete your Memory.
Why say whether an application was accepted or declined?
Because the AI learns from your results. A declined application, with the jury’s comments, is often more useful than an accepted one: the AI takes it into account so you do not repeat the same mistakes. When you start an application, the AI first looks at your applications to the same program, otherwise those to the same funder, otherwise all your applications. If your former program no longer exists, you indicate its current equivalent.
Which files can I upload?
PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text and images. Scanned PDFs, photos and screenshots are read too, tables included. You can also drop a complete .zip folder downloaded from Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox: Elodia reads every file, subfolders included.
Do I have to upload my CV for every application?
No. The applicant’s documents, such as the CV or the organization’s bylaws, are uploaded once and serve all its projects.
Writing with the AI (Applications)
How does the AI write?
The AI follows Élodie’s writing method: write for the program’s evaluation grid, demonstrate rather than persuade and avoid superlatives. It answers in the style juries prefer: flowing text, without repeating the question or what is already said elsewhere in your application. If you give it a character limit, it respects it.
Can the AI make up information?
It is designed not to. When evidence is missing, such as a figure, a date or a partner, the AI leaves a blank to fill in instead of making something up. Always reread these blanks before you submit.
What does the AI know about my application?
With every message, the AI rereads your Memory, your diagnostic, the application form (including unanswered questions), your budget, your documents and the program page. You do not have to explain your project again.
I do not know where to start my application.
Three suggested questions appear under the input box, drawn from the program page. The “Elodie’s tips” button also opens tips specific to each program. The program page stays visible next to the conversation, with the evaluation criteria and eligible expenses.
How do I check the length of an answer?
Each answer has a Copy button and a character counter, spaces included, so you can meet submission portal limits without recounting.
How many questions can I ask?
100 questions per application on every paid plan. An extra project, at $39, adds one application or 100 questions to an existing application.
Preparing and submitting (Tasks, Budgets, Reviews)
How do I know what to prepare?
Each application has its list of tasks and documents to prepare, drawn from the program, with a progress bar. Funders’ official templates can be downloaded right from the list. Your notes on each tab are saved with the application and shared with your team.
How does the budget work?
You fill in the budget grid or ask the AI to propose one. The proposal appears in the conversation and nothing is written to your budget without your click. The budget calculates the eligible amount and warns you if you request more than the program’s cap. Paid plans can export it to Excel.
Can Elodia fill in the funder’s official budget?
Yes, with the Team plan. You upload the funder’s official Excel file and Elodia fills it in from your budget, without touching the formulas.
How does the AI review work?
Before you submit, ask for a review: the AI rereads your application and gives you a three-part report: strengths, risks and gaps, then corrective actions. You have 3 reviews per application. You can also have your final report reviewed.
How do I get my final file?
After the review, you download a .zip file ready to submit, organized in two folders (Applicant and Application). You can keep your file names or rename them automatically as “Project, year, file name”.
Working as a team
Can I share an application with my team?
Yes, with the Team plan. You invite colleagues as editors or readers. You then choose to share all your applications or only some. The plan includes 3 users. Each extra user costs $29 per month.
Someone takes over a file: do we lose the history?
No. Memory is shared with the team. With the “Share my whole file with my team” option, members’ AI also uses your Strategy diagnostic and past applications, just as it does for you. A new person takes over the file with its whole history.
Security and privacy
Is my data safe?
Your files are encrypted with a key for each application and each account. They are hosted in Montréal. Elodia complies with Québec’s Law 25.
Who can see my files?
You and the people you share an application with. If you order a human review, the reviewer sees the application you entrust to them. Every access is logged. The Elodia team may access your files only to fix a problem you report to us or to meet a legal obligation. The support agent never has access to the content of your files.
Are my files used to train the AI for other users?
No. Your files are used only for your own applications. They are never added to Elodia’s knowledge base and never used to train an AI model. That base contains official documents, public regulations and anonymized templates drawn from accepted applications written by Élodie, with her clients’ consent. The AI uses them as guides for structure and tone, never reusing their facts, names or figures.
What happens when I delete an application or my account?
The encryption key is destroyed: the content becomes permanently unreadable. Deleting really means erasing.
Can I refuse AI processing of my data?
Yes. You can withdraw your consent at any time. The AI is then blocked by our servers for your account, not just hidden on screen.
The links in my Elodia emails do not work.
Elodia’s invitation and reset links withstand email scanners that open links in advance. If a link has expired, request a new one from the login page.
Plans and billing
What are the plans?
- Artist (independent artist): $39 per month or $399 per year. 5 applications per year, 2 per month. 1 artist or organization in Memory. 1 user.
- Intermediate (manager, high-volume artist): $79 per month or $799 per year. 10 applications per year, 3 per month. Up to 4 artists or organizations. 1 user. 1 hour of training.
- Team (label, organization, production company): $199 per month or $1,990 per year. 30 applications per year, 8 per month. Up to 20 artists or organizations. 3 users. 1 hour of training, funder’s official budget filled in, team sharing and 1 human review per year.
Annual billing is the same as two months free.
What if I do not use all my applications in a month?
They are not lost. With Elodia Carryover, your unused monthly applications are carried over, within your annual quota.
What is the human review?
An arts funding expert rereads your application before you submit. It costs $150 per review. One review per year is included in the Team plan.
Support
How do I get help?
Click the Help button: the FAQ appears first, then our agent answers other questions right away. To talk to a person, click “Talk to a person”. A numbered ticket is created and our team replies within 24 business hours. Team plan subscribers are handled first.

How does Elodia find programs for me?+
You answer a short diagnostic: your status, your discipline, your province and your project. Elodia first sets aside the programs you are not eligible for, then evaluates each of the others. Each suggested program comes with a written explanation of why it suits you.
